Here are pictures from my trip back with one of my favorite neighbors Charlie. Charlie is the Marina Grandpa. He’s great! He has taught me a lot about sailing and absolutely loves going out in the Bay. We always have a great time going out and heckle each other along the way.
On this trip, I dodged shipping containers, their tug boats, power boats, ferries, other sailboats, all just trying to get out of the Alameda channel (reason #1 why I will never live there!). It was a beautiful day, and although I didn’t see any wildlife this time I did work the tiller AND tacked by myself not only for the first time by myself, but the entire five hours of sailing! It was a great sailing experience, and my first maiden voyage as the captain of my ship. Can’t say that every day 😉
